As noted by a variety of places, such as
the Register, Google.de was briefly off the internet on Monday evening/Tuesday morning as Google appeared to have forgotten to renew its German domain. The register reports that the google.de domain was in fact briefly owned (or is that PWNed?) by a third party before everything was straightened out.
Maybe google needs to add domain renewal to its calendar program?
