As reported by golem.de from the eBay Developer Conference (10.-12. June in Las Vegas), Skype is to become more integrated with eBay's payment service Paypal.

The screen shot from eBay partner Actiontec Electronics below shows the beta 2.5 version which is intended to enable the 6 million Skype customers to also use Paypal for purchases from the Skype store, such as ringtones or SkypeIn and SkypeOut credit. This Skype money should, in the final version 2.5, also then be useable to make purchases/sales within eBay as the two buttons Send Money and Request Money show.

This will of course also help to gain new Skype users since eBay will show subscribers Skype buttons (and encourage others to become Skype users) for certain product categories.

How much users will be willing to talk rather than use the IM function has to be seen. I would guess that IM will be the preferred way.
