It seems a common sport in the US to sue competitors when you cannot beat them in the market. Net2Phone's case against Skype is very obviously that and only that. Unfortunately, the antiquated US legal system seems to encourage/allow such behaviour.
I assume the fact that most US politicians are lawyers will mean that they actually don't change anything any time soon.
