Yuuguu is a UK startup that offers a web presentation software with the same capabilities as Webex (or GoToMeeting). Only differentiator is that it is for Free. The business model is not yet visible but being a Web 2.0 startup that anyway does not matter (they might think
). I guess they will first collect as many free users as they can and then provide premium services for a charge. So they are copying Skype, basically. Also the look & feel is copied from Skype's website, e.g. the color schemes are very much the same. We will check this all out and see if we can use it instead of - sorry, guys - GoToMeeting. Right now you need to install client software still, but looks like they will also have a version soon that let's you do web conferencing with people who have no client installed simply with the web browser. There are a few more things to say but let me first check it out and see how good it really is.
Final word, "Yuuguu" is a strange name IMHO and is supposed to mean "you go". Easy for native English speakers, more difficult for non-native speakers. But stop, maybe they copied yet another thing, the name from Yahoo? How they present themselves can be seen in this video.
