Extendance - Strategic Alliances Services
Form Successful Alliances & Partnerships - also in India, China and Japan
While alliances and partnerships are the day-to-day business reality in high-tech markets (regardless of whether you are market leader, challenger or startup), their success is often hard to gauge, and is by no means guaranteed.
We are able to make sure that both sides win, that the communication is done very well, that goals are formulated and that success is monitored. While we typically work for just one side in such a partnership, we are also seen by the other party as a "neutral" entity and dealt with accordingly. This allows us to gain a measure of influence and trust that is impossible to achieve otherwise. If we ensure that both sides win, and communicate conflicts and challenges properly, the likelihood of success is increased and return on this strategic effort is much more likely.
Forming strategic alliances in the high-tech market environment is a very common business development strategy, serving a wealth of objectives. There is often even co-operation with competitors in same product-market segments (called co-opetition). Extendance has extensive know-how in forming strategic alliances, and can take an active role in the whole process, from selecting the right partners, based on pre-determined criteria, all the way through negotiations, to deal closing. This service also includes support with "exit" strategies for startups or M&A activities for established companies. In emerging markets in particular, such as India or PR China, or relatively closed markets, such as Japan, we have an extensive network of contacts and have gained - through our own work experience - first-hand expertise that our clients can profit from. Last, but not least, we have language skills (Mandarin, Japanese) that may offer a substantial advantage even if the other side speaks English.
